So....it's a quarter to 11 at night and I really should be in bed....but I just can't sleep. Sure, it may be the excitement for my upcoming trip, but I don't think so. No...it's the interview we had on tonights show.
For those who don't know, Mike Rickseker and I have a show that airs every other Tuesday on LiveParanormal. Com called "Edge of the Rabbit Hole". We had the extreme pleasure of having Mr. Dustin Pari, from Ghost Hunters, on the show this evening. I was already giddy with excitement over this but, what started out as a simple case of "starstruck-ness" quickly turned into a genuine feeling of respect and admiration. A more down to earth person would be hard to find, in my opinion. He truly does "walk the walk". As a motivational speaker he uses his experiences to lift people up. To show them what they can accomplish through hard work, commitment and....probably the hardest thing....believing in yourself.
It takes ALOT to impress me but he sure did. Anyone who takes time out of their day to be so giving to others deserves a big pat on the back and a kick ass high five, in my book. He stands out in a field that seems to draw the "me, me, me" crowd. This is an accomplishment.
It takes so little to reach out to each other and show a little love. Give a little praise for a job well done. To help someone see their worth and potential. To put it simply....to make someone feel important. Imagine how different this world would be if we all just tried a little harder to lift up our fellow man. If we took 5 minutes to make a stranger smile. If we just understood that every person we passed on the street was just as important as we considered ourselves to be.
His example is one we should all follow. From the guy working at the drive thru to the lady at the bank, to teenager who is working at the local Walmart while going to school. A smile and a kind word may not seem like much but, to someone feeling down or unimportant, it may be just the boost they need to get through the day. Just food for thought, peeps! Love ya!!!
